Carnal Autopoiesis brings together the work of four contemporary artists whose self-generating processes, methods and practices explore the body as the primary site for a grounding between the material and immaterial.

‘Autopoiesis’, a concept introduced in 1972 describing self-generation in cellular biology, has since become a prominent idea in systems theory, cybernetics and digital culture.
